Avoiding emotions

❌“I don’t do emotions.” Not for the first time, someone said this to me recently.

I respect and understand this idea:

❌Head down.
❌Push through.
❌Go again.

I’d offer that what people often mean when that say this is “I don’t actively engage with my emotions and right now, I don’t want to.”

That’s completely understandable. Many emotions are uncomfortable sensations.

💡But the truth is, we're all already “doing” emotions.

Every single moment.

Our brain is wired that way, whether we're engaging with the feelings it produces or not.

Emotions can...

✅ Fuel or drain your energy
✅ Strengthen or strain your relationships
✅ Unlock or limit your potential

A small step towards enabling emotions to work for rather than against you?

🧠 Consider changing “I don’t do emotions,” to “I don’t do emotions...YET.”

💭 Perhaps you see yourself disengaging emotionally? I’ve been there too and now have the privilege of supporting others in recognising the power of emotional engagement.

Do you have a daily experience of emotions that support and empower you? If not, let’s chat. It really is possible for YOU. You can also sign up to my free weekly newsletter - see the link in my ‘free support section’.

You’ll receive an emotional skill step each week that you can immediately apply, plus entry into a monthly draw for a free coaching session ☺️

💡Remember that no one can support or empower YOU better than YOU...
