Accessing the emotions we seek.

When I first started researching emotional skills, I was searching for an answer to a question that felt quietly unsettling:

I had so much:
🎓 A degree
💍 A partner
🏢 A profession
🏡 A house
👶 Children

…and many other privileges besides.

So why didn’t I feel how I’d imagined I would?

Content. Capable. Confident.

Turns out—I was looking for those emotions in the wrong places. Every single time.

Circumstances are relevant, but they don’t actually provide us with our emotions.
Our brain does. Every single time.

So if your mind wanders this week to:
💬 “I’m ticking the boxes so why don’t I feel the way I thought I would?”

Try answering that thought with curiosity instead of criticism:
👉 “Maybe I’ve been looking for the emotions I seek in the wrong places. What would it look like to change that?”

That one reflection can unlock so much.

And if you’d like a more personalised way to explore this, email me—I’d love to support you with a personalised next step.
